Surgery clinics

We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

Antenatal clinic

Antenatal care is provided by the community midwife. Please make an appointment to see her after a positive pregnancy test.

Diabetic clinic

Appointments are arranged by us for routine review of all diabetic patients, except those reviewed by the hospital.

Asthma clinic

The nurses, who have been specially trained to run our asthma clinics, normally carry out routine reviews of all asthma patients. A doctor is always available to give advice if necessary. An asthmatic patient who is unwell should arrange to see the doctor in normal surgery.

Family planning

Advice is available from all the doctors and nurses on various contraceptive methods. Emergency contraception (the morning after pill) can be prescribed where appropriate. Condoms are available; please ask for a family planning appointment with our practice nurse.

Please be aware we no longer offer long acting reversible contraception (Coils, etc). Long acting reversible contraception is available from Umbrella Health.

NHS health checks

NHS health checks are performed by our nurses – please speak to reception to make an appointment.

Travel vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel – as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. Since we do not know what vaccines you require and which may be chargeable, please bring £45.00 per person to your first travel vaccine appointment.
